We decided to introduce this newsletter to keep our clients and collaborators up to date with changes to our services as we are evolving and adapting to your needs and sector changes.
You may find that we are now offering supports you weren't aware of and that might be of interest to you or your networks.
We will also update you on changes to our team.
If you have any comments or questions please email Valerie.rottger@qimprove.com.au or call 0405 665 388 for a chat.
Valerie Rottger (Founder & Principal Consultant)

We recently celebrated our 5th anniversary.

It was an opportunity to reflect on our journey so far and we realised that we had worked on more than 60 projects, for over 20 organisations across all states and territories of Australia, New Zealand and we even made it as far as Nauru.

We want to thank every one of you who has worked alongside us, engaged us or referred us, for your trust and support and for bringing us into your organisations, teams and projects.

Trish Pockley is off on a new adventure...

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that Trish, QImprove co-founder, has stepped back from her role as Director to pursue an amazing opportunity in the not-for-profit sector.

Trish has been a wonderful business partner and to all the people who warned us that partnerships are hard, we must have been the exception to the rule. We started and finished this journey as great friends, who shared the same vision and values. Trish will continue to be part of the QImprove family and contribute to tenders and other projects that require extra resourcing.

Valerie Rottger will continue to lead QImprove into the future...

We will continue to offer our standard true & tested services, including tender writing and bid management, service reviews and evaluations, social impact measurement and policy and procedure development.

In addition we are are excited to introduce three new initiatives:

  1. Digital Capacity Building:

We are in the process of designing and testing a brand-new service, helping organisations to become more data savvy to support decision making and measure their impact. This can include a review of your current data capacity, the development of metrics and dashboards to measure your outputs and outcomes and help with process improvement to enhance data quality and increase efficiency.

  2. Research to Practice:

We will be expanding our research capability in the team, with the aim of identifying and sharing international and Australian research relevant to the sector alongside practical ways to implement the findings. We will be offering this as a standalone offering or as part of all other projects.

  3. Pro Bono support:

We now offer free, time-limited support to small, innovative organisations and social enterprises to help them build their capacity to become better equipped to source and secure philanthropic and government funding or generate their own income.

A big thank you to the wonderful QTeam

We've worked with a number of partner consultants over the years who have collaborated on projects that required specialised skills, ranging from government relations to academic research and from marketing to compliance.

While we continue to collaborate with other consultants on large projects, we now have a core team of two who support us with our most common project needs and the development of new initiatives, Cherie & Marcello.

Cherie Pereth

Cherie continues on as our highly valued and sought-after Adviser, Evaluation and Social Impact. Cherie has built our internal capacity and supported many of our service reviews, led our evaluation projects and developed program logics and Theories of Change to support service design and tenders. We look forward to continuing this great partnership.

Marcello Sequeira

Marcello is a highly accomplished data professional and PhD student and has recently joined QImprove as Adviser, Data and Analytics. Marcello is working with us to develop and pilot a new service offering around digital capacity building. Past, current and prospective QImprove clients can request to be part of this exciting pilot so we can design our offering around your needs. If you are interested, please get in touch.

We are currently looking for:

  • Consultants, solo entrepreneurs and Master or PhD students

who want the opportunity to work on QImprove projects on an ad-hoc basis. Looking for individuals with skills around data analysis and research or any other amazing skills you might bring and we hadn't realised we needed!

or others who have an interest in improving the capacity of small, innovative organisations who might currently struggle to access grants and other funding.
